Since the last edition of Folkus, we have welcomed several residents into The Falls Family, some of whom you may already have met. We’ve also hosted presentations by You, Me & Friends Tours, the Ministry of Social Development, and The Eye Specialist.

In July, our Residents Committee with their helpers organized the mid-Winter Christmas event. This event is annual and a great favourite with residents who compete in a best dress competition, and enjoy an entertainer who makes the occasion extra special and ensures residents are ready to dance the night away after a scrumptious meal prepared by our caterers.

In September, the Village participated in the Silver Festival, an initiative by the Whangarei District Council. Look out for an article about our garden tour and Village Market in our next edition. In this edition fall in love with chickens, check out Eutopia Café in Kaiwaka, learn a bit about New Zealand’s education history, the history of Reyburn house, and how to grow and use Lemon Balm.
